Characteristics Of Computer

Here are some of the characteristics or features of computer.

• speed: The speed of computers is very fast and it is linked to the technology used to built it. The computers are made of different memory like,the computers using 'vacuum tubes' speeds were measured in milliseconds.Computers used transistors were measured in microseconds. The computer using integrated circuit are measured in tens of millions of operation per second. Now computers are using microprocessor.since then,the speed of computers has increased and has became more powerful more than the computers of the past.They are not only powerful but they are also cheaper and more reliable.
  
  
• Accuracy: Computers are very fast and reliable.Computer can do a lot of work without doing any mistake and tiredness.If there happens any mistake or errors due to the checking feature.mistakes are arises due to the user enters incorrect data and instructions.Almost all the computer errors are in programming or because of invalid data. Computers never be tired of working so all the works done by the computers are correct and are reliable.
  
• Storage: A computer system has large storing system.It can store and retrieve massive amounts of data.In computer system storage can be divided as primary and secondary storage.

#primary:It is the place where cpu can directly interact.It is the work space of the microprocessor.It is expensive and of limited capacity.

#seconadry:It is less expensive and can hold enormous amount of data.before procesing the data in secondary storage,it should be copied to the primary storage.The computer can retrieve information from files on disk in a few milliseconds.Thus the user can store the data and information in a large number.

• Automatic: Computer is an automatic machine.Computer performs tasks automatically according to the instruction provided by the user.

• Dilligent: The ability of computer to perform a work continously without getting tired The ability of computer to perform a work continously without getting tired and bored.it can perform its work without any emotions and tiredness.Computer has ability but no humanbeings.

• Versatile: A computer can perform more than one work at a same time.Such capability or characterstics of computer is known as versatile.

• Electronic: Computer is an electronic device and can't work without electricity and all the devices of computer are electronic so computer is called electronic device.

• Non-intelligent: computer can't can do any type of work,if the user is not given input in terms of data,insruction or program.All the works that is working behind the scene is the brain of the humans.So,computer is called brainless idiot.
